Our school can help with enrolment queries throughout the year.
Local enrolment area
Most schools have designated local enrolment areas. School Finder shows our local enrolment area. Note: local enrolment areas are subject to change.
How to enrol
When you’re ready to enrol your child in our school, you’ll attend an interview with the principal. There you can discuss any medical conditions or other special circumstances before your child starts school. We may also complete a risk assessment on the enrolment.
Kindergarten interviews commence in May of the year prior to enrolment and may be booked by phoning the school office to make an appointment from the beginning of Term 2. Interviews for Years 1 and 2 may be organised throughout the year by phoning the school office.
You will need to complete and bring an enrolment form with you. You will also be asked to bring the following original documentation with you for the interview
• child's birth certificate or identity documents
• proof of child's address x 2. E.g. current council rates notice, residential lease, electricity bill, etc.
• immunisation history statement from the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR)
• any family law or other relevant court orders, if applicable.
Students arriving from overseas and/or temporary residents will need to supply the following documents and special conditions may exist for some visa holders
• passport or travel documents
• current visa and previous visas (if applicable)
Enrolments for Kindergarten are taken from Term 2 the year before your child starts school.
Kindergarten children must be five years old by the 31st July in order to be enrolled.
Children can enrol from the beginning of the school year if they turn 5 on or before 31 July that year.
All children must be enrolled in school by their 6th birthday.
Students should start school at the beginning of the school year.
As outlined in the department’s enrolment policy, our school may accept enrolments from outside our local enrolment area if places are available.
Non-Australian citizens, including permanent residents, temporary residents and visitors, may enrol in Australia Street Infants School, subject to certain conditions. For further information, visit International students enrolment.
In all cases school fees for international students are set by and payable to the International Students Centre (ISC) of the NSW Department of Education & Training. For further information and assistance in regard to enrolling your child in Australia Street Infants School contact the International Students Centre on +61 2 9217 4801 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Kindergarten orientation days are held each year in October / November. This allows the new students to become familiar with the school prior to their first day of school.
