Getting Here

As an inner-city school in the heart of bustling Newtown, car parking options close to our school are extremely limited. We suggest you get here on foot or by bike, scooter, skateboard or rollerblades. We have plenty of parking for kids’ wheels in the bike shed at the back of the school. Parents and carers are welcome to park their bikes at the side of the school near the library.

Public transport is also a great option. We’re a short walk from many bus stops in King St and from  Newtown train station.

Our school is located at:

229 Australia Street
Newtown NSW

Getting to school safely

Let’s work together to ensure you, your child and all the children in our community get to and from school safely. Here are a few tips:

Keep our school community safe by:

  • driving and parking safely, even if it means parking further away and walking the rest of the way to school;
  • being a good role model;
  • never calling your child from across the road;
  • crossing the road using the pedestrian crossings
  • discussing with your child how to be safe when:
  • talking about and practising:
    • safe travel routes
    • plans for when unexpected things happen
    • what to do in wet weather.

Subsidised school travel

Transport for NSW provides subsidies to assist school students.

  • The School Student Transport Scheme provides eligible students with free or subsidised travel on public transport between home and school.
  • The School Drive Subsidy may help towards the costs of driving children to school if you live in an area where there is no public transport.
